Every year, around 8 million devotees trek and flock to one of the oldest and most revered shrines in India, to visit the Vaishno Devi Temple. The Holy Shrine of  Maa Vaishno Devi is settled at an altitude of 5, 200 feet above sea level and around 12 km of terrains from the base camp in Katra, within the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

For more than 700 years ago, it was believed that the presence of the Goddess Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji who is the manifestation of the collective spiritual strengths of Mata Maha Kali, Mata Maha Lakshmi and Mata Maha Saraswatican be felt at the holy cave found in Trikuta Mountains where Vaishno Devi ran off to establish an ashram to meditate. But she was continued to be chased by a tantric, who met his ultimate fate when he intentionally disturbed her meditation. Later on, Vaishno Devi eventually assumed the face of a rock to completely immerse herself into eternal meditation. Known as the Pindies, a five and a half foot tall rock formation with three heads and these darshans embodies the Sanctum Sanctorum of the holy cave which symbolizes the Mother Goddess’ preservative, creative and destructive characters.

And being the Moonh Maangi Muradein Poori Karne Wali Mata”, or the Mother who fulfills whatever Her children wish for. Anyone,  regardless of gender, faith or culture who traipse the Himalayan trail to pay homage to her will not go home empty-handed but be blessed with  Moksh (Knowledge), Dharm (righteousness) Arth (Wealth) and Kaam (Pleasure).
